My role of VP of PT is to support other rehab society roles, advocate for all PT students, and to encourage the rehabilitation therapy cohort to participate and be involved in the Queen’s as well as the larger Kingston community. Tessah MacDowall & Clare Murphy

Our role is to represent our class on the National Student Assembly of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA), as well as work alongside the Quinte-St. Lawrence Division of the Ontario Physiotherapy Association (OPA) to serve as a liaison between the students and the PT professional organizations. Additionally, the PT professional reps are responsible for organizing events and communicating information to the PT classes that relates to professional development, or engagement in the CPA and/or OPA.

As PT social rep, I am responsible for organizing events for my cohort, as well as working closely with the OT social rep to plan activities together for all rehab students. One of the main events I organize is the Rehab Formal for 2nd years! I am always open to suggestions to make these 2 years an enjoyable experience!
As OT social rep, I host social events for my cohort, and I will be working with the PT social rep to plan the second year formal night and OT PT events! Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have event ideas or want to join the formal committee!

The PT class reps are responsible for liaising between the class, faculty, and RTS Council. Major duties include coordinating USATs, acting on issues of academic concern, attending monthly faculty meetings, attending monthly RTS Council meetings, passing on relevant announcements to the class, and helping the council run events.

As Senate & SGPS (Society of Graduate & Professional Students) Rep, I’ll be representing the School of Rehab Therapy on both these committees and advocating for broader issues. VP OT - Eva Ang

As VP OT my main role is to get the OT students involved in the Queen’s/Kingston community and to connect the OT and PT programs to create positive inter-professional relationships. In addition, I am responsible for helping coordinate the Winter Adapted Games here at Queen’s and coordinating the mentorship program between 1st and 2nd year students alongside the VP PT.

As treasurer, my main roles are managing the Rehab Therapy Student Society’s finances, approving proposed budgets and ensuring that the society’s funds are being used in a way that provides rehab students with a variety of different opportunities, activities and events. Additionally, I provide financial counsel to the orientation committee.

OT'23 Professional Reps - Maddy MacDonald & Jordyn Friedman

As OT Pro Reps, we promote OT at Queen's, connect students to professional events and conferences (at discounted prices!), and coordinate a Rehab Career Fair for OT2/PT2 students towards the end of the school year. Our role also includes liaising between OT professional organizations (CAOT, COTO, OSOT) and the student body. We're dedicated to creating open dialogue, sharing information about OT as it relates to you and your interests, and finding more opportunities for professional development.

Merchandise Reps - Cheryl Low (PT) & Charlotte Young-On (OT)

As OT and PT merchandise reps, we will come up with fun and creative clothing that all students will want to show off. We will be working closely with each other, the clothing vendor, and the treasurer during the year to organize try-ons, order the clothes, and distribute them.
